nothing in particular- I can't believe anyone would read this

I feel bad that I haven't had anything substantial or of any value to add to the world of blogging. It's not that I haven't tried, I have.

I could write about how Dave just emptied all the trash cans, and that might be the hottest thing I've seen in a while. But I don't think anyone but me cares.

I could go into detail about snapping my wrist this week, and it seems to be getting worse by the day, but who wants to hear me whine.

I could bore you with details of Trim Time; our new uniforms (which mainly consist of a t-shirt, name tag, and close toed shoes. Paperwork is boring but coming along nicely. I have an org chart that has my name in way too many positions. We did hire a new part time bather, he is very nice and very respectful of me and the animals, I'm sure he will make a great addition to our team. http://www.trimtimepetgrooming.com/ is up, email is non-existent. Don't think that is interesting to anyone.

Jocie has had a lot of home time since Dave started his new schedule.

We don't have any of the same days off together, but she has one of us home with her every day. I think she is sick of being an only child. She loves attention from perfect strangers, and hugs the neighborhood kids for dear life when she sees them. I'm not sure where she gets that macaroni and cheese is the best food on earth? Well, I share the same opinion, but....

Even the dogs are completly bored with us!

We have all switched to Dave's schedule a little. I don't go to bed at night, and then when Dave get's home he convinces me that ice cream would be good, and it "doesn't count" as food or calories. We have an ice cream problem.

I finished Harry Potter and Dave is about half way. I loved it and that it was a wonderful ending for the series. Of course I always gave JK credit for the story line and world that she had created, but it wasn't till this last book that I realized her genius in having everything in detail planned since book one. She sure can tell a story, even if at times it is hard for me to handle. I hope she writes more in the future.

For the last few months I have been trying to keep finances in order and cutting costs where I could. In instances like this, retail therapy is usually the best way to deal. Unfortunately a purse would not help the situation so much. So I have taken out my spending at the grocery store. My favorite thing of the week is getting the grocery store ads, scoping out the stores and bringing home the bargins. My FAVORITE part is when they tell you how much you saved! My goal is always to save more than I spent, but that doesn't always work. Dave doesn't quite understand that this is all in the name of having a year's supply, he just thinks I have a cold cereal obsession. He really may have something there too.

It is so hot outside that the garden is.... well not good. There will be a lot of dead plants going beck to Home Depot and Walmart that didn't survive. We will try again in the fall.

I miss seeing Kim a few times a week. I think Jocie does too, she misses her Wes and Sis. Jojo has taken very maternally to her blue baby.

We are heading into "birthday season", August and September are crazy!!! It's time to get out the cards and start writting. (oh I found a website I LOVE http://www.birthdayreminders.com/ - it reminds you!!!)

I think that's it, boring but we can't all be exciting ALL THE TIME!

I am using every spare minute at work and home to read the last Harry Potter book. I know I said, "I'm not reading it!" because I was mad at JK for killing so many of the characters that I had grown to love. I think the kids around the world handled the last 2 books better than me. But it's a battle of good and evil, and it has to end good..... right?

Everyone here is fine. Dave is working at least 40 a week, maybe not the hours he or I would prefer, but we are thankful for them. Jocie has a runny nose and is completely in love with B and her kids, I've tried to leave her over there a few times so Jojo would follow me home. Nope it backfired, she was perfectly happy to stay there without a fuss. NICE!

I'm still working at e-mything my business. I finished few things and started many.

Curt and Rhonda's families are out of town, which is making their 3 siblings left here very sad. We miss you guys! The only thing consoling us is Harry Potter, boy it better have a good ending!

Thanks to Dad for making us dinner last night of rigatoni!!! Yummmy!

After dinner Jojo wanted "dirt" (yogurt) so we settled for chocolate pudding. Isn't she just the vision of cleanliness?? She did freak out and need a napkin after she got a drop of it on her finger. Silly girl.

we knew that we wouldn't be able to spend quality time with Dad on Jojo's actual b-day, so we invited some family and friends to have dinner with us on Sunday. Dave chose Organ Stop Pizza, he's a genius! She loved love loved it! The music took her over and she could do nothing else but give the show her entire attention!

On other news, MARIO ATE FOOD that requires CHEWING! maybe not so much chewing as sucking and pretending, but this is huge! Mario makes me look like an adventurous eater! But once the music started he kept telling B "mommy want some", so ok. He worked on it for a good long time, till he actually got a chunk and gagged a little. Either way, this is a big step for our little guy! We had lots of clapping and congratulations, and we were all SOOOOO proud of him! I think it was the highlight of the party!

ps. thanks Jane and William for the adorable dress, I know it shouldn't fit her yet, but we made it work! it was too cute to stay in the closet for long!!!

jojo's circus

Well it happened, she turned 2.

It's not easy lookin so put together, a lot of work goes into getting ready to be 2. I felt like primping went on forever this morning.

At least we started out the day together as a family, Dave had to leave for work at noon, which really bummed him out ( I think A LOT more than he let on) and made us very sad. So what do you do when your all dolled up and miss your dad? Go grocery shopping of course. It was Wednesday so why not grab all the ads and head out! Why? because I'm a dork and it's a 115 degrees and I wanted to hit 3 grocery stores.

Well if you want to show your toddler where the love is on their birthday, take em to the grocery store! At Basha's she got to make a sweet patriot hat that said "Happy Birthday Jocie", she also got a pink balloon and a cookie at the bakery! Basha's is like a one stop party shop! Thanks Eddie and company!

After her cookie lunch and 10 min nap we headed to Grandma and Papa's house for food and water. Jocie loves swimming and had a blast. She is a little too brave which scares me, and like me, can't hear anything anyone is saying if she is thinking hard enough. You never know when a heavy case of thinking will hit (either of us).

My favorite thing about today (and unfortunately it was probably because she was missing her best friend, Dad) was that when she was in need of something, or feeling vulnerable she was soooo sweet and cuddly. I know that isn't a big deal to anyone else, but Dave always gets that, not me, and I sucked up every second of it! It was nice to feel needed.

Unfortunately I was wiped out after 3 grocery store bargain hunting so I let Grandma take all the pics of Jocie, so they are not exactly in my possession yet. Don't worry, like any proud mother of their "extremely gifted" child I will throw them up here when I get em.

Grandma made homemade Oreo ice cream and Aunt Megs made the prettiest butterfly cake with flag wings! They were both amazingly good! Of course Jojo would have NO dinner, rather play. BUT when it came time for a big messy cupcake, she suddenly had an appetite. AHHHHHHHHHHHH

We came home to watch fireworks in our front yard with the neighbors and Rhonda's family. I knew she wouldn't remember them from last year so I was excited to see what she would think. When the first one went off she looked like she had been shot! The look of fear on her face as she ran to me and covered her ears was so sad. She spent most of the time with her head buried in my neck and every now and then would peek. After the peeking became old she wanted to turn around and see what mom was so excited about. By the end she was clapping and yelling at them. What a fun experience.
